In an effort to foster mutually beneficial partnerships with the local community, and live by its vision of embodying its corporate social responsibility, Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company, through its CEO Alex Miguel visited Salalah College of Technology last April 6, 2017 and met with the college dean, Dr.Hamdan Al Manthari together with the assistant deans.

The meeting was very productive as future project collaborations were discussed including SembCorps commitment to accommodate SCT students as On-The-Job trainees in the company. They will also provide feedbacks on the performance of SCT graduates that they hired the past 2-3 years in the hope of contributing to the improvement of our quality program offerings to the current students that respond to changing market needs.

As part of SEMBCORP’S corporate social/community service, the company donated 10 LCD projectors that our College would use to implement our plans of development and expansion.

Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company (Sembcorp Salalah) developed, owns and operates an electricity generation and seawater desalination plant, the Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant, located between Taqah and Mirbat in Oman. The plant is located approximately 50 kilometres from Salalah, the administrative town in the Dhofar Governorate.
