The Engineering Department is conducting various industrial projects in collaboration with National Feed Mill Co. SAOC, Oman Pharmaceutical Products Co LLC. and Carmeuse Majan LLC. These collaborative projects are perceived to bring positive results in strengthening industry-academia relationship to develop multidisciplinary strategies for sustainable projects. These collaborations greatly help to address today’s challenges in the Engineering field.
The students with their academic supervisors are working closely with industry representatives to identify and provide sustainable solutions. To ensure the quality of projects, experts in the industries are involved as external assessors along with internal assessors from the Engineering Department during the final presentation of projects.

The Civil Engineering Section of the Engineering Department conducted an industry consultation with Salalah Sanitary Drainage Services Company (SSDSC). The purpose of the meeting was to come up with a scheme, that will make the program offering of the section relevant to the ever-changing industry manpower and skills demand. A round table discussion with the Civil and Architectural Engineering Section staff and SSDSC engineers led by Engr. Abdullah Al-Awaid, Head of Project and Contracts Section of SSDSC, tackled issues that the industry expects from Civil Engineering graduates who will be employed with SSDS Company. Several suggestions served as input for possible reorientation of the program. The meeting resulted to be cordial and fruitful, with the specific purpose achieved.
The said activity was being conducted as part of the section’s initiative to collect feedback from different stakeholders like the industry.
