Human Resource Development (HRD) Committee of Business Studies Department (BSD) of ‘University of Technology and Applied Sciences’ has organized an induction program to the staff members Mr. Hussam Ahmed Ba Sedeeq, Mr. Ghanim Bakhit Shamas and Mr. Abduallah Mohammed Al- Amri, on their rejoining after completion of their higher studies. The induction session was arranged to provide the rejoined staff members an understanding on ‘Information Management Systems (IMS)’ followed at University of Technology and Applied Sciences.
The induction program was scheduled on Wednesday, 16th September, 2020. The facilitators for the induction session were Dr. Peeyush Dwivedi - Department Registrar, BSD and Ms. Seemab Rana - member of HRD committee.
During the first session, the facilitator, Dr. Peeyush, presented an introduction about CIMS- College Information Management System. The functioning of Quick links in CIMS was explained with a focus on the following: ‘Attendance Module’, ‘Students Marks Module’, ‘My Advisees’ Module’, ‘Incidents Module’, ‘Student Datasheet Module’. In addition to this, the necessary steps to be followed while generating Advising Reports, Attendance Reports and Time-table Reports were explained to the staff members. Also, functioning of SARS-Students’ Academic Record System was briefly oriented to the staff members.
During the second session, the facilitator, Ms. Seemab, presented the introduction of the Marks Management System (MMS) and the functioning of e-Learning. The aspects discussed were as follows: ‘Student Probation’, ‘Levels of Probation’, the ‘Role of Advisor in dealing with Probation Students’, ‘Advising the Courses’ and ‘Preparation of Scenarios’. Also, the inputs on the usage of e-Learning system were discussed with the staff members. This session had specifically demonstrated uploading of course material in e-Learning and setting the grade book to enter the marks to the students.
