New system for 2018 SCT graduation implemented

The success of 2018 Salalah College of Technology (SCT) graduation ceremony on the 8th of November at Al Murooj Theater was attributed to the implementation of a new system.

Originally developed by the Higher College of Technology (HCT), the system has been adapted by the Educational Technology Center (ETC) of SCT to ensure the smooth and organized flow of ceremony for 608 graduates, through the assistance of Mrs. Rehana Al Ameer, the Head of ETC and Mrs. Zayana Al-Sinaw, the Head of Computer Services Section from HCT.

The system was used in recording of graduates’ attendance, calling screen, calling orders by honors, departments and specializations, as well as sorting of certificates by departments and specializations.

Mr. Hashim Al Hadi, the Head of ETC and Mr. Hatim Al Mashikhi, the HoS-CSS, from SCT presented a plaque of appreciation to Mr. Wahab Al Husini and Mr. Francis Meneses, the developers of Higher College System. SCT is looking forward to continuing this mutually beneficial relationship among Colleges of Technologies in the Sultanate of Oman.


QD Muscat Visited ETC

Dr. Nida Mallare and Dr. Bennet Ebenezer of QD Muscat visited Educational Technology Centre of Salalah College of Technology on March 15, 2017.

The audit was attended by all members of the QA Committe headed by Mr. Armando Del Mundo, with the members Mr. Hashim Al Hadi, Head of Center, Mr. Hatim Al Mashikhi Head of CSS, Mr. Backhit Massan Head of Library and Ms. Charity Canlas ETC Coordinator.


Microsoft Sway for Teacher

Salalah College of Technology (SCT) primarily uses an Academic License of Microsoft Office in which is also the most application tools are being used to all student's learning courses. In line with this Microsoft environment, and in pursuing relevant academic development, Educational Technology Center (ETC)- Human Resource Development committee headed by Mr. Hashim Al-Hadi facilitates the Training on Microsoft Sway for Teachers last February 15-16, 2017 at English Language Center Computer Lab 4. Mr. Roly Hechanova, one of the ETC staff has been the resource person of the aforesaid training. The event was attended by interested academic lecturers in different departments of the college as part of ETC continuing skills development capability for all SCT Staff.

Microsoft Sway is a presentation program and is part of the Microsoft Office family of products also called this product as "Office Sway". Microsoft release this product to further enhance creativity and productivity for learners in web environments.


Web Design and Development using Visual Studio 2015

Educational Technology Center (ETC)- Human Resource Development committee headed by Mr. Hashim Al-Hadi extends its objective in pursuing the student's skills development by conducting students development training program in Web Design and Development using Microsoft Visual Studio 2015. Mr. Nassser Tabook an I.T. Engineer from Ministry of Agriculture was invited as the resource person to conduct the two (days) training. This event was held at English Language Center Computer Lab last February 8-9, 2017.
