Current & Future Trends in ELT
The field of English Language Teaching has been witnessing fresh challenges and dynamic changes for the past two years due to the Covid-19 Pandemic that has widely affected all the spheres of life. One of these challenges is the shift from face-to-face teaching to online mode of teaching. The English Language Center at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Salalah seeks to provide continuous support and professional development opportunities to the staff to address and successfully overcome that challenge. Keeping this in mind, the center has decided to host a symposium that could serve as a good platform for professional development. It is worth notable that the center has successfully hosted three national symposia namely, “Improving Teaching Quality”, “Communication, Culture, and Creativity in ELT”, and “ELT in a connected world”.
