An outreach program was organized by Civil and Architectural Engineering Section in association with Mount Zion College of Engineering & Technology, Pudukkottai, Tamilnadu, India. It is a webinar on “Introduction to SAP 2000 Software – Beams, Frame & Building Analysis”.
The online event was participated by the students of Civil & Architectural Engineering Section from UTAS-Salalah and II, III and IV year Civil Engineering students of Mount Zion College of Engineering & Technology as live seminar projected on screen in the seminar hall.
SAP 2000 (Structural Analysis Program 2000) is a structural analysis and design software developed by Computer and Structures Incorporated (CSI). It is a general purpose finite element program which performs the static or dynamic, linear or non-linear analysis of structural systems. It is a powerful tool to design structures following different codes. SAP 2000 is a full featured program that can be used from the simplest problem up to the most complex ones. It features powerful graphical user interface in 2D and 3D that is unmatched in terms of ease-of-use and productivity.
The resource speaker Mrs. J. Sheeba Ebenezer tackled the basics of using SAP2000 software and also analysis of Beams, Frame & Building which is widely used in Design offices.
This webinar helped the students to enhance their knowledge and get updated on the current and latest techniques in civil engineering.
