Aimed at updating IT staff on Oracle technologies, an online training on Rapid Application Development Using Oracle Apex 20.2c was organized by the Database Specialization (DB) Section, headed by Mr. G. Baskar, on the 23rd of March, 2021.
Mr. Hansel Delos Santos, a senior database lecturer and an Oracle APEX certified professional, shared his knowledge on the features and capabilities of this software. He demonstrated a simple functional system using the Oracle Apex 20.2c, which made the participants realize on how easy and fast it is to develop applications using this technology.
The participants likewise learned that it is possible to develop their own application when they are equipped with the basic understanding on database systems, entity relationships, structured query languages, and most especially using an Oracle account and workspace. The said platform is being used by the DB Specialization BTech Course Project students.
The program facilitators were Dr. Chandrapal, Mr. Suresh Kumar, and Mr. Azeem Qureshi. A total of 45 participants from the IT Department of UTAS-Salalah and other staff from different departments and colleges gave positive feedback and received their e-certificates after the training.
Meanwhile, the online training was conducted as a part of the Professional Development Programs for the IT staff in coordination with the IT-HR Committee.
