The Research Committee hosted a workshop on TRC-BFP Awareness Program for Students

The Research and Consultation Committee (RCC), in collaboration with the IT Student Development Committee hosted an on-campus workshop for students on The Research Council (TRC) and Block Funding Program (BFP) last November 9, 2022, at the IT-4L project training room in IT Building.

The workshop's goal was to raise student awareness of the available funding opportunity in TRC for students and how to apply.

During the workshop, Dr. Shima Al-Shanfari, Head of the RCC Committee emphasized the importance of innovative projects and research activities in the university.

The awareness program's speaker was Dr. R. Venkateswaran, a member of the Research Committee. The speaker discussed the general overview and mandates of The Research Council. He next went over the various levels of funding programs and the eligibility criteria for students who want to participate in them. In addition, he demonstrated how to create a proposal and how to use the TRC website to complete the form and submit the proposal. Finally, the speaker shared his experience of two research projects funded in this current academic year.

The workshop was well-received by the 15 students who attended. The support of Dr. Bernard Ugalde, Dr. Shradha Dwivedi, and Dr. Chandrapal, members of the RCC Committee contributed to the success of the session.
