The IT Section, in coordination with the HR Committee of the IT Department, organized a workshop entitled “Be Creative, Engage and Connect with Students Using Nearpod,” which aimed to demonstrate the use of Nearpod (https://nearpod.com/) as an interactive learning platform to improve student engagement.
The resource speaker Mrs. Jasmin Tumulak Estudillo focused on applying the different features of Nearpod and its integration to lessons for effective student learning experiences. She shared interactive activities such as collaborative board, matching type, polls, games and interactive board (Draw It). Results of these engagement activities can be viewed real-time by the lecturer. Also, comprehensive reports of student engagement can be generated by the Nearpod.
The concept of the workshop was taken from Benjamin Franklin’s quote “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.”
