Civil Engineering students and staff of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Salalah attended a webinar on the different ways of mitigating the environmental impact of construction through sustainable design and construction via MS Teams.

The speaker, ENGR. GIL CRUZ, from Bataan Peninsula State University-Philippines, emphasized the role of civil engineers in construction using sustainable materials and sustainable methods of construction for environmental sustainability. In addition, the participants gained a deeper understanding about global warming, climate change, and renewable sources of energy.

The webinar was initiated by the CERE 2201 - Renewable Energy in Construction classes under Engr. Anna May Tayo, in coordination with the Engineering Student Development Committee under the leadership of Ar. Arwa Al Ghassani.
