On February 21, 2023, the Research and Consulting Team (RCT) of the IT Department initiated and hosted a campus awareness session on "The Research Council (TRC) and Block Funding Program (BFP)". The major objective of this program was to increase awareness of the funding opportunities for staff and students at TRC. The program also covered the procedure on how to use the RIMS-TRC portal to submit a research funding application.
All IT staff received a warm greeting from Dr. Shaima Al-Shanfari, who also emphasized the value and the available opportunities of the university's research and innovation.
The Research and Consultancy Team (RCT) member, Dr. R. Venkateswaran spoke during the event. He covered the broad overview and objectives of TRC, the various levels of funding programs, and the requirements for students seeking research funding. Also, he provided instructions on how to develop a proposal, fill out the website's form, and submit the proposal.
Members of the RCT Dr. Chandrapal M., Dr. Shradha Dwivedi, and Dr. Mohammed Maqsood acted as facilitators for the event.
Dr. Fatima Al-Shanfari, the Head of IT Department expressed her gratitude to the RCT for this program and stated that she anticipated more research funding bids to be submitted to the TRC and predicted that more research funding proposals would be proposed to the TRC.
