Place of visit: A’Safwah Dairy & Beverages (A division that is part of Dhofar Cattle Feed Co. (SAOG) group), Salalah.

As a step towards inculcating practical knowledge, a group of 20 students along with four faculty members of the College of Economics and Business Administration, UTAS, Salalah visited A’Safwah Dairy & Beverages, Salalah on 8th December 2022. The visit was arranged by the OJT and Industrial & Community Engagement Committee. The visit’s agenda was to impart the practical aspects of Quality systems and marketing processes and to create awareness of quality projects among the students.
Team A’Safwah Dairy & Beverages welcomed the visiting group, who guided them to the quality section. Mr. Firoz Ahmed, Head- Quality Department and his team A’Safwah gave a brief introduction about quality management and their process to the students and staff members. Further, he explained the quality processes for testing milk and yogurt products of A’Safwah Dairy company. Then the students discussed the quality management systems and their implications in A’Safwah Dairy & Beverages.
After the discussion, the visiting group was taken to the factory’s quality labs. The concerned quality team, exhibited the functioning of quality testing, system, and others. Additionally, there was a presentation on quality equipment for the students.
This visit provided a good prospect for the students to link the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with practical implications. Altogether, it was a wonderful learning experience for the students as they were acquainted with the real working environment of a company.
