The course is intended to help ESL/EFL learners, and anyone who wants to understand what strategies and techniques they need to improve their writing skill. I will first have a preparation course on how to write different types of paragraphs. The aim of which is to help learners attain the necessary skills to write descriptive, instructive or explanatory and narrative paragraphs. Then, the different genres of academic essay writing will be introduced. College or university students will be guided, equipped with the techniques and last but not least prepared to write proper and well organized essays. Besides, this course is dedicated not only to college students, but rather to anyone seeking to advance his or her writing skill. Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to: (1) write effective and different types of paragraphs and essays, write catchy and effective introductions with paraphrased topic sentences and thesis statements, (2) plan and write opinion essays, agree and disagree essays, problem solution essays, cause and effect essays, and (3) write well-developed body paragraphs, and conclusions.

By the end of this course, you will be able to: 

• Gain knowledge and understanding about the different types of paragraphs ( descriptive, instructive or explanatory and narrative).

• Gain knowledge and understanding about the different types/ genre of essays (Opinion Essays, Argumentative Essays, Problem and Solution Essays, Cause and Effect Essays)
  

• Write effective and appropriate paragraphs.
  

• Implement and put in practice what they have learned.
